The journey from Dehradun to Lohajung is a beautiful drive through winding mountain roads, and dense forests that open up to stunning valley views. Tip: If you get motion sickness, taking Avomine or Domperidone 30 minutes before the drive can make the journey far more comfortable.
The trail from Lohajung to Gujreni begins with a gentle ascent through dense oak and rhododendron forests, where the sound of flowing streams and chirping birds sets the perfect trekking rhythm. Gujreni, surrounded by towering forests and quiet meadows, makes for a calm and scenic first campsite — a perfect introduction to the Brahmatal experience
The ascent from Gujreni to Tilandi takes you deeper into the heart of the forested ridge. As you gain height, the tree line begins to thin and the views stretch farther — revealing layers of Garhwal and Kumaon ranges stacked against the horizon. Tilandi is one of the most beautiful campsites on this trek, offering an open sky, sweeping valley views, and sunsets that paint the mountains gold.
The trail from Tilandi slowly rises above the meadows and leads you to the stunning Brahmatal Top, where the world opens up in a grand 180° panorama. After spending time at the top, the descent takes you through snow-covered ridges to the frozen shores of Brahmatal itself. Camping at Brahmatal is a surreal experience - the still water & star-filled sky make this night truly unforgettable
The final descent retraces your path from the alpine heights back into the comforting embrace of the forests. Snow trails gradually give way to oak & rhododendron woods! Reaching Lohajung feels like completing a full circle - tired legs, full heart & memories that stay long after the trek ends.
Your return journey from Lohajung to Dehradun/Rishikesh is a long drive, but a comfortable and pleasant one — perfect for reflecting on the summit you conquered, the friends you made, & the surreal landscapes you walked through. By the time you reach Dehradun, the trek feels complete, yet the memories continue to echo.
